AI Artwork & Embroidery: What You Need to Know

We love AI artwork!  However, not every AI-generated logo or image can be embroidered exactly as it appears on your screen.

Embroidery is made with thread and stitches, not pixels. Because of this, some artwork may need to be simplified or adjusted before it can be embroidered.

Common Issues With AI Artwork

  • Too much detail – Tiny details can get lost in stitches.
  • Small lettering – Text that looks readable on a screen may become unreadable when embroidered.
  • Thin lines – Very fine lines may disappear or not sew properly.
  • Gradients & shading – Smooth digital shading doesn't translate directly into thread.
  • Too many colors – AI artwork can contain many shades that aren't practical for embroidery.
  • Design size – A detailed design may work large but not when reduced to a small shirt or hat logo.

What We May Need to Do

To make your design sew properly, we may need to:

✓ Simplify details
✓ Adjust or enlarge lettering
✓ Thicken thin lines
✓ Reduce colors
✓ Remove shading or gradients

This doesn't mean your artwork is bad. It simply means that digital artwork and embroidery work differently.

Our goal is to keep your design looking as close to the original as possible while making sure it sews cleanly, looks professional, and holds up on the finished product.

If you're unsure whether your AI-generated artwork will work for embroidery, send it to us at tkoriginal@aol.com and we'll be happy to take a look!
